The city of Hvar is a unique fusion of a luxurious Mediterranean landscaping, rich cultural and historical heritage along with summertime tourists.
Hvar is an inexhaustible treasury of scenery, atmosphere and adventure. Its name derives from the Greek name for the island which was also the name given to present day Starigrad in the 13th century PHAROS. Hvar gained glory and power during the middle ages as an important port within the Venetian, naval empire.
Today, it is centre of the island’s tourism and one of the favourite destinations in Dalmatian riviera – a town of smiling and courteous people, who are almost all dedicated to tourism.
